New to Rowing?
Welcome to those of you who haven’t rowed before and want to try it out!
In collaboration with Rowing Canada (RCA) and Row Nova Scotia, we offer two options for those who have never rowed before. Rowing is a great, low impact activity and a great way to get out on the water and staying fit and healthy!
Come and Try Rowing Event
We hold a ”Come and Try Rowing” event every year as part of RCA's National Come Try Rowing day. This is a short introductory rowing session lasting approximately 1 hour. During the Come and Try Rowing event you'll be shown the basics of the rowing stroke, get to know our Coastal Rowing shells and oars and some of the terminology related to rowing them, and have a chance to get into a very stable Coastal Rowing Shell with one of LYC Rowing's experienced rowers for a short row around the harbour.
Stay tuned for more information about the 2024 Come and Try Rowing Event at LYC Rowing.
