Welcome to those of you who haven’t rowed before and want to try it out!
We offer a couple of program options for beginners in collaboration with Row Canada . The first is a ”Come and Try”, a short introductory session of an hour or two, and the second is a longer “Learn to Row” program of about 10 hours spread out over 2 or more sessions.

We offer a couple of program options for beginners in collaboration with Row Canada . The first is a ”Come and Try”, a short introductory session of an hour or two, and the second is a longer “Learn to Row” program of about 10 hours spread out over 2 or more sessions.
Programs: Recreational Rowing
- Come and Try – Over 1-2 hours on a weekend morning or weekday evening, you will receive a basic introduction to rowing technique and safety, and experience a short row with an experienced rower. Participants will leave with a very basic understanding of what rowing involves, and if interested in learning more, will have the opportunity to register for a Learn to Row program.
- Learn to Row - Over 10 hours of instruction, usually held over one or two weekends, you will learn the basics of sculling (rowing with two oars) in stable coastal rowing boats. Participants will leave with a good basic understanding of rowing equipment, boat handling and safety, rowing technique, balance and steering, as well as how to launch and land boats safely on our beach.
