I want to thank everyone for their patience. We have recently received the final guidelines for providing learn to sail programs this year. There will be many changes and I hope everyone will remember that we are one of the few sports open for which I feel very grateful even though it won’t be business as usual.
These guidelines are necessary but they do not need to reduce the fun sailors will have in our program. I am very confident that we will be able to provide a fun and safe summer where sailors will become lifelong sailors while building lifelong friendships and memories.

- Physical distancing is required by all not inside a family bubble. This is the guideline that places the greatest restrictions on the program as all sailors and coaches need to distance themselves. If restrictions change we will re-evaluate and adapt whenever possible.
- Single handed sailing only (unless in a family bubble). Only Laser and Opti programs are offered at this time. If two members from the same family bubble can and want to sail together in a 420, please contact me by replying to this email.
- Sailors must have completed CanSail 1. Sailors must have the ability to sail independently.
- We will have staggered arrival and departure times. We need to limit the number of people on land at the club at any one time. The schedule will be posted shortly.
- Out of province sailors MUST self isolate for 14 days prior to participation in the program. This needs to be strictly enforced.
- Weather cancellations. If conditions are not suitable to safely go out on the water, the program will be cancelled at any time including before drop-off. We simply cannot have kids inside for extended periods of time due to group size limits and social distancing.
- Cleaning protocols and group limits will reduce access to changing facilities. Sailors will be asked to arrive in their sailing attire as cleaning requirements and group size limits reduce access to changing facilities.
