Membership Categories

LIFE MEMBERSHIP – One individual who is 19 yrs of age or older.  Life members pay a onetime fee to have all the privileges of the Club for their lifetime.  They have one vote and can hold office.   They may keep a boat at the Club with the rental/ownership of a berth/mooring.  They are entitled to a discount on the regular price of fuel.  This membership is not transferable.

SENIOR MEMBER– One individual who is 19 yrs of age or older.  They are entitled to all Club privileges. They have one vote and can hold office. Senior members may keep a boat at the Club with the rental/ownership of a berth/mooring. This membership includes a food credit and a discount on the regular price of fuel.
NOTE:  In order to be eligible to berth/moor a boat at the Club a member MUST join as a Senior member or in a category that includes a Senior member.

DECK MEMBERSHIP – One individual 19 years of age and over.  Deck members have full Club ”house” privileges.  They may only vote if they sit on the Board of Directors.  Deck members do not have marina or mooring privileges for a boat, however, they do have wharf privileges when they are a guest of a Senior member. This membership includes a food credit.

CREW MEMBERSHIP - One individual 19 years of age or older.  They are entitled to all Club privileges on race days ONLY for 2 hours before and 2 hours after a scheduled race. 
NOTE:  In order to crew in LYC races, an individual MUST join the club in one of the appropriate membership categories.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP– One individual 19-24 years of age.   They must be a full time student at a post secondary institution. They shall be entitled to all Club privileges.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP – One individual under 19 years of age. They are entitled to race in regattas outside LYC.  Junior members cannot vote or hold office except in a Junior branch of the Club.  Junior application forms must be signed by a parent or guardian and be accepted by the Board of Directors.

SENIOR FAMILY MEMBERSHIP - A family with 2 individuals over 19 yrs of age with children under 19 yrs of age/full time students up to 24 yrs of age.  One of the individuals over 19 yrs of age shall be entitled to all the privileges of a Senior Member.  The other individual over 19 yrs. of age shall be entitled to all the privileges of a Deck member.  Children under 19 yrs. of age/full time students up to 24 yrs. of age shall have the privileges of a Student member.  A boat may be kept at the Club with the rental/ownership of a berth/mooring.  This membership includes a food credit and a discount on the regular price of fuel.

SINGLE SENIOR WITH CHILDREN MEMBERSHIP – One individual over 19 years of age with children under 19 years of age/ full time students up to 24 yrs of age.  The individual over 19 years of age shall be entitled to all the privileges of a Senior member.  Children under 19 yrs. of age/full time students up to 24 yrs. of age shall have the privileges of a Student member.  A boat may be kept at the Club with the rental/ownership of a berth/mooring.  This membership includes a food credit and a discount on the regular price of fuel.

INTERMEDIATE SENIOR MEMBERSHIP – One individual between 19 & 30 years of age. They are entitled to all Club privileges. They cannot vote or sit on the Board of Directors. Intermediate Senior members may keep a boat at the Club with the rental/ownership of a berth/mooring. This membership includes a food credit and a discount on the regular price of fuel.

NEW MEMBER – New members may join the Club under any appropriate membership category (except Life and Junior) at a 25% discount for the first year.  They must not have been a member of the Club within the previous 5 years.

​VISITOR MEMBERSHIP (1 week membership) - This membership is for an individual or family who would like to join the Club for a 1 week period.  They are entitled to all Club privileges and may keep a boat at the Club with the rental of a berth/mooring.  Racing privileges are not extended to those with Visitor memberships at external regattas representing LYC.
